Guides Reporting

Rules for reports

What we publish, what we redact, and what we never publish.

coldslop shows which companies send AI-personalised cold outreach and how they build it. A moderator checks every report against these rules before we publish it.

What belongs here

Unsolicited outreach that is clearly templated and personalised by software. The tell is the formula: a greeting with your name, a compliment about something you made, a vague detail that could fit anything, and a pitch.

  • “I came across your repo” and “loved your post” emails that pitch a product.
  • “We already built a page for you, just claim it” emails.
  • Directory, launch-site and backlink offers sent to people who never asked.

What does not belong here

  • Personal email, even if it is unwelcome.
  • Newsletters you signed up for, receipts and other transactional mail.
  • Phishing, scams and malware. Report those to your email provider instead. We reject them without publishing.
  • An email a person clearly wrote by hand, even if it is a sales email.

What we publish

The sender’s domain and company name, the product it pitches, the template with its slots, the prompt that most likely produced it, and redacted copies of the emails.

What we always redact

  • Everything about the recipient: names, email addresses, company, and the repositories, products or posts that identify them. They become slots such as {recipient_first_name} and {recipient_repo}.
  • Per-recipient tracking in links: claim tokens, tracking parameters and unsubscribe links.
  • The individual who signed the email. Their name becomes {sender_name}, and the company name stays.

A moderator checks every report before we publish it. If you see something we missed, use the link in your receipt to suggest a better redaction.

What we never publish

  • Individual sender addresses or names.
  • Anything about the person who reported the email.
  • Claims about a company beyond what its emails show.

Verification

An email forwarded as an attachment can be DKIM verified, which proves the sending domain. A sender page appears in search engines only after we verify at least one of its emails. How to forward as an attachment.
